Acafellas
The Acafellas, formed in March 2010, are a small group of some 25 members of the Bromley Barbershop Harmony Club. As a smaller group, we can perform at venues that could not accommodate a 50- man chorus.
Under the musical direction of Alan Lucking, the group has its own repertoire. Their songs which are in the distinctive barbershop style of four-part harmony, date from the 1800s. An example would be ‘Shenandoah’ which remains immensely popular. Arrangements of more modern numbers like “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” from Lion King Musical are also included.
A typical Acafellas performance would normally last a half hour, but shorter or two part longer sessions can be arranged if required. No music is needed as the group sing “Acapella”, (unaccompanied). They operate mainly in the Bromley and South East London area but can travel further afield. The chorus perform at formal occasions such as award ceremonies / Masonic dinners / anniversary parties etc. The chorus also take an active role in supporting community care groups for the elderly, disabled and disadvantaged etc.
Their charges are very reasonable and are tailored to the nature of the client organisation and its funds. Fees can be reduced in appropriate cases.
If you would like them to come and sing for you, or if you require any further information, please telephone our Performance Secretary :
